I never understood the people that buy 17 inch laptops. Do they even call those things laptops? Mine is a 14 inch Acer TravelMate. It's quite old but it still does the job for now. I really need to upgrade soon though as I'm planning to get into some serious programming.

I'm glad the task management system is available and I would like to be able to use it under Google's Calendar service. Still, some people need to use just one of the too, the tasks or the calendar, so this is why I think Google chose to separate the two services.

Those 5 steps are really effective for a good management and backup system in your own web hosting service. It's really important to backup files because we are not sure if the system may failed anytime.

I thought this plan was meant to help after the crash. I see it's a way of preventing data loss in case of a crash. I wonder if people really think in advance. Most would have their sites backed up after they lose their data once.

I think the native systems are simpler combined with that nobody has really "killed" the comment system possibilities yet anyway... maybe I don't know of one, but I'd like to see a comment system that trolls for comments about the post made on {INSERT SOCIAL NETWORK/LIFESTREAM HERE} and inserts that comment as a comment on my posts. Gather the things people are talking about (about the post, a-la tweetmeme) and bring them back to my blog.

WAIT, @echo seems to do that (I just saw your link).

Oh, @echo wants you to pay for it. Seriously? No free edition for my personal teeny blog site? Hmmm.

I posted another blog using the WordPress iPhone app, and yes, typing http: popud up a window to create a link. I think I found a bug though. I created a link that had a ! in the text, and the link would not insert into the blog text. I added the link without the ! and the insert worked, and I placed the ! on my own.

Disqus doesn't currently sync back to the WP comment system properly, but if you used something like http://intensedebate.com it would work.

You can auto link something by typing "http:" and the auto-link tool will pop up.

Hey thanks for linking to our WordPress e-Commerce Plugin. I appreciate the linkage.

I would like to clarify a few things though. The WP e-Commerce Plugin was the first Plugin to base cross sales system on the Amazon system. We did this before shopp even, and we were also the first Plugin to make a drop shop shopping cart. Take a look at icondock.com to see what you can do :)

WP e-Commerce does integrate with an iPhone theme/Plugin. Just not this one (yet). We could easily do it providing their Plugin is extendible in that way (WP e-Commerce certainly is).

The WP e-Commere Plugin dashboard integration was built around real business needs. For instance being able to provide your business quarterly reports and stats per product. And so on. Google e-Commerce analytics is also almost ready to launch.

The WP e-Commerce Plugin was recently chosen by the wordcamp.org organizers to sell tickets online. We built a new ticketing module for the New York WordCamp and over 700 tickets were sold online. Users can now sell digital (ie mp3 files with previews), tangible goods (like merchandise or art) and tickets to their live performances, galleries, shows and gigs. And its all possible because WP e-Commerce is gone canonical!

And speaking of books. That book is sold by a third party (our buddy Shayne) and we're flattered that somebody would write something to compliment our own online documentation. The actual WP e-Commerce Plugin book is to be published and made available in book stores early next years - this is a sign to us that our Plugin has gone main stream.

And finally, more themes and add on modules have been made for the WP e-Commerce Plugin then any other WordPress extension. I know of about 4 more additional themes that are being made by our community right now. You can find them all the existing ones on our blog :)

Hey, I haven't read any of your blog entries before, and I came across this on Google (I am not sure when this was written, but I'm going to leave a comment anyway). I love this article- I LOVE Star Trek, and I have DREAMED (with an intense passion) to work on Holodeck Technology among many other geeks. I am so jealous that you got to go into a software company building, let alone got to experience a little taste of what the "Holodeck" would be like. However, I am only 16, and maybe I'll get to go to a software building someday too :P I have a feeling I'm going to like your blog, haha. Thanks for writing this!

Yeah, it's a feature I over looked. But now I know. Will this make that feature for your site work better?

As I was thinking further, you could just add the different sidebar index, like sidebar 1 and 2 for cat 1, sidebar 3 and 4 for cat 2, and so on.
